At The Compound we don’t describe ground and pound as two people on the mat in a lying position, we describe ground and pound as a form of MMA striking, most of which does occur on the floor, but we also incorporate striking techniques from the standing clinched position against the cage/ropes. For example standing shoulder strikes, head positioning, foot stomps and so on. The main focus of ground and pound class is taking advantage of opportunistic punching, Elbows, and knee opportunities after the takedown.
This class is a necessity for anyone interested in MMA.
